About Us & Our Vines
Stewart and Stephanie Perry are the owners of Fawnridge Winery and Vineyards. They make their award winning wines right here on site and you can meet them anytime you come in!
The Perry's have been avid wine lovers for thirty years. After living in North Lake Tahoe for fifteen years they moved to Auburn in 1989. The couple raised sheep together and cared for their property overlooking the Sacramento Valley. Upon learning that local grape growers were bringing back the grape and wine industry as it was during the historic Placer County Gold Rush era, they decided to develop vineyards on their property. With the help of friends they planted Barbera and Syrah in the summer of 2002. Stewart and Stephanie are personally involved in every aspect of the vineyard management and wine making process. They are committed to making Fawnridge Winery a world-class success.
The Barbera Vineyard
The Barbera vineyard was planted on one of the fertile hillsides of Fawnridge. The north-south orientation of the vines allows for the ample sun exposure needed for this Italian grape. Careful hands-on tending of these vines provides the full fruit and spicy characteristics of a truly premium wine.
The Syrah Vineyard
Syrah is a grape native to France. It is planted across another hillside on the Fawnridge property and the careful tending of this estate vineyard provides for a luscious, flavor-filled Syrah in the French tradition with dark, full color and a smooth finish which is sure to please the most discriminating wine enthusiast.
